Kandy Svec B.S, E-RYT 200, AYS

Kandy is an accomplished instructor of Meditation, Classic Hatha Yoga, Vinyasa Flow, and Restorative Yoga, and has designed specialized yoga programs for seniors and those suffering from Arthritis and Osteoarthritis. 

Kandy is an instructor at the Himalayan Institute, Canterbury Woods Retirement Community, Maryvale Community Education and previously an adjunct yoga instructor at the University at Buffalo. Kandy is a two year Board Member with Family Promise of WNY. As a graduate of the Cornell Hotel School and a Certified Club Manager. Kandy spent her early career in the hospitality industry and country club management in Minnesota, New York, and Pennsylvania. Her passion for ecology and the environment has led her to further studies at Erie Community College in Environmental Studies graduating with honors in May 2018. Kandy teaches her students how to incorporate yogic philosophies and practices into a richer and more meaningful life.

Joanna Z. Christopher

Joanna Z. Christopher is a Certified Qigong practice leader with WNY Qigong by the National Qigong Association (NQA) with over 200 hours of instruction over more than two years. Joanna is well versed in the forms and sensitive to the needs of new students. She is passionate about empowering her students by building their internal resources of emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual energy. She has been teaching Qigong classes at Breast Cancer Network of WNY, Elderwood, and Buffalo State College during the past year.  She also teaches at Heart’s Desire Hypnosis and Wellness Center.  Her students find her classes physically and emotionally relaxing and fun.

Tracy Draksic MA

Tracy began her formal study of yoga at the Himalayan Institute in 1998. After many years of hatha yoga practice, she began expanding her interests into yoga philosophy & psychology, meditation, and Sanskrit. She completed the Institute’s teacher training program and became a certified instructor in 2010. Many opportunities followed for further teacher education in Toronto, Hamilton, and Honesdale, PA. She received a B.A. in French Literature from Wells College and an M.A. in Linguistics from SUNY Buffalo.
